A: SSH is the only way to connect. Telnet is insecure. SSH to bombshelter.ca can be accomplished by windows users by downloading 'Putty'.

A: 'pine' or webmail is for email, Google Groups is for newsgroups.

A: Click the 'webmail' link at the left-hand side of the homepage.
Q: How do I move files onto/off of my home directory?
A: Secure Copy. For windows, google on WinSCP (there are others like SecureXplorer). FTP is an insecure, outmoded protocol, and not good for this use.
